JOAN RECALLS GOLDEN YEARS
THE Logies being held at The Star Gold Coast has stirred up some memories for long-time local Joan Waters. “The buzz around the Logies really takes me back. In 1972 I was Bert Newton’s assistant on stage and carried out every Logie to be presented. The big stars that year were Roger Moore and Rock Hudson who were very handsome and great fun. I worked for two years on a national show called Spending Spree on Channel 9 with Jimmy Hannan. As well I also did occasional skits with Graham Kennedy, Don Lane and Bert Newton on their shows so I have a lot of happy memories from the golden years of television,” said Joan.
