United coach Dolphins star calls for more a real keeper
GOLD Coast United NPL Women’s coach Michael Cook says his side still has room for improvement, despite thrashing SWQ Thunder 11-2 at Robina on Sunday night.
The hosts led 5-1 at halftime before completing the rout with another onslaught after the break, keeping hold of eighth place with successive wins.
“The only concern was our slow start. We still need to learn to be at our best for 90 minutes,” Cook said.
United travel to Mudgeeraba at 3pm on Sunday. GOLD Coast Dolphins wicketkeeper Lewin Maladay has been named in the Queensland Academy of Sport Development Squad for 2018-19.
Maladay, who scored 170 runs at an average of 42.5 for ACT/NSW Country at last season’s National Under-19 Championships, is one of two glovemen in the eight-strong squad.
He is also part of Cricket Australia’s Fielding and Wicket-Keeping Program, which compliments the National Performance Squad.
