McEwen up for Razor Challenge
THREE-time Tour de France green jersey winner Robbie McEwen has pledged his support to RACQ LifeFlight’s annual fundraising cycling challenge, the Brisbane City Razor Challenge as ambassador in a bid to raise funds for the organisation.
Gold Coaster McEwen (pictured) has been a longtime supporter of RACQ LifeFlight – Australia’s leading aeromedical rescue organisation and has fronted the charity’s cycling events as ride ambassador since 2012.
The LifeFlight Razor Challenge, on October 6, is a gruelling cycling which pits a team of 12 cyclists in a series of Gran Fondo events around Queensland over five months to raise funds to keep the RACQ LifeFlight helicopters in the air.
“RACQ LifeFlight provides a vital lifeline to Queenslanders who become sick or injured and require emergency aeromedical care,” McEwen said.
“Many within the cycling community have been personally affected by the service or know friends and family members who have been airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight after serious cycling accidents.”
