Abuse claim against late swim coach
A CHILD abuse allegation has been levelled against late great Queensland swimming coach Ken Wood, following his death earlier this month.
Wood, the legendary swim coach of Geoff Huegill, Leisel Jones and Jessicah Schipper, died after a short battle with illness on June 16.
After his death, a woman told Swimming Australia that Wood had abused her while she was a child in his care.
Swimming Australia said it was investigating. “At this stage, we don’t have any particulars of the circumstances surrounding the allegation. We are seeking to understand this matter further in line with our Safe Sport Framework, though our primary concern is the welfare of the individual involved.”
