Big milk spill shuts freeway
A DRIVER has been trapped in his vehicle and thousands of litres of milk spilt across a major Adelaide freeway after an early-morning collision between two trucks yesterday.
A B-double milk tanker was hit from behind by another truck on the Southeastern Freeway about 1.30am, near the Stirling exit, rupturing the 23,000 litre container.
The 40-year-old driver of the second truck was seriously injured and rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital. Outbound lanes of the freeway remained closed while HAZMAT crews cleaned up the spill.
