Media man named as RDA chair
FORMER media manager Nick Scott has taken over one of the city’s most influential community and investment attraction bodies, announced as the new chairman of Regional Development Australia Gold Coast.
Mr Scott will join RDA Gold Coast’s new director of regional development Estella Rodighiero, formerly the senior economic development officer for Gold Coast City Council’s Commonwealth Games unit.
RDA Gold Coast is part of a national network of 52 committees supported by the Australian Government to develop their regions.
RDA Gold Coast will connect Gold Coast businesses and industry sectors with international trade partners, financial markets and potential investors, and engaging with regional entrepreneurs and business leaders to identify opportunities which will lead to job creation and growth.
“There are a lot of opportunities in our region and, supported by the board and with the leadership of Estella, I see this as culminating in significant investment for the Gold Coast,” Mr Scott said.
Ms Rodighiero said the Gold Coast was entering a new phase following the Games and looked forward to seeing the city evolve its reputation as a global destination for trade and innovation.
Mr Scott is on the board of Gold Coast Tourism and Bond University Business School and was the former general manager of Southern Cross Austereo – Gold Coast.
He replaces Craig Devlin, who held the chair position for seven years.
