Lockdown accused in custody
A MOTHER who is accused of posting threatening online messages which twice forced a Gold Coast school into lockdown has been remanded in custody after allegedly going on social media while on bail.
Stacey Jaundrell, 36, will be held on remand at least until Tuesday after her matter was adjourned on Thursday at Southport Magistrates Court.
Jaundrell from Upper Coomera appeared in custody after being arrested and charged on June 21 for breaching her bail conditions by going on social media.
The conditions were imposed after Jaundrell was bailed on four charges related to the lockdowns at the school on June 11.
The fresh charges are breaching bail conditions and seven offences of using a carriage service to menace or harass, which according to court documents occurred on June 18.
Jaundrell was on bail after allegedly threatening people at Upper Coomera State High School while impersonating a student on Facebook and Instagram.
Jaundrell spoke to The Bulletin about the charges in an exclusive interview.
She said that her daughter had been having difficulty at school.
The threats on June 11 resulted in the school going into lockdown twice.
Jaundrell was granted bail the following day and ordered not to use social media, contact the school or contact the student she impersonated.
But a week later Jaundrell was allegedly online again.
Defence lawyer Michael Gatenby said it was a very sad situation.
“She was concerned her daughter would become the next Dolly Everett and reacted poorly to a very difficult situation,” he said.
Husband Craig Jaundrell said he was concerned about his wife.
Jaundrell will appear at Southport Magistrates Court again on July 3.
