Optus gives up on Cup

-

SOCCER streaming failure Optus has finally given up on its $8 million World Cup campaign and agreed to let SBS broadcast the rest of the games.

In a massive own goal, the telco was branded Floptus after it left football fans frustrated over playback errors and buffering delays during its coverage of the group stages.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull even called Optus to demand it fix the problem. Optus asked SBS to screen all the games in the group stage.

Yesterday, it said SBS would also show all the remaining games. It has also promised to refund people who paid to use the failed service.
