REAL ESTATE FIRM SHOWS WHERE IT’S AT

- ALISTER THOMSON alister.thomson@news.com.au

NATIONAL real estate agency @realty has signed on to move into corporate power tower 50 Cavill Ave, with plans to double its current space from October.

The company, which has recruited 500-plus agents in four years, has signed a fiveyear lease with options for 400sq m on level 11 of 50 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise.

The agency will pay $390/ sq m net plus outgoings.

The move, effective from October 1, will more than double its current premises at the Surfers Paradise Gateway building on Appel St.

The agency also expects to more than double the number of staff working at its headquarters as it brings its information technology team in-house.

Director JJ Taylor said the move is in line with plans to build on @realty’s business model, which is centred around a team of agents who work remotely across Australia. “We have a busy and exciting 12 months ahead, so we wanted to make the move as seamless as possible, which is why we have opted to stay in central Surfers Paradise,” he said.

“We chose 50 Cavill Ave because it is a landmark building and provides us with the opportunity to spread our wings.”

CBRE’s Nick Selbie, who negotiated the lease, said the A-grade tower will be at 93 per cent occupancy once the real estate group moves in.

“There has been an uptick in interest in 50 Cavill Ave following a recent $10 million refurbishment, which included six high-speed lifts, and endof-trip facilities,” he said.
