Nauru says no to ABC
THE tiny island nation of Nauru is refusing entry to an ABC camera operator to cover the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum being attended by Malcolm Turnbull because it is an “activist media organisation”.
The Nauru Government based its decision on what it described as the ABC’s “blatant interference” in domestic politics before the country’s 2016 election.
Nauru said the ABC’s insistence on its presence was “arrogant, disrespectful and a further example of the sense of entitlement shown by this activist media organisation”.
