BRAD GIVES REAL-LIFE PARAMEDIC LESSONS

-

LIFEFLIGHT paramedic Brad Solomon (right) was about to give a speech about his 20-plus years medical career when a real-life emergency unfolded.

As Brad walked to the stage, a man in the audience at the LifeFlight Razor Challenge Launch collapsed.

Brad sprang into action with the help of fellow LifeFlight paramedic Gavan Clarke.

The two gave guests an unintended example of their medical skills.

In another twist, minutes later a second guest collapsed, requiring treatment from the paramedics on the scene.

“It just goes to show, a LifeFlight paramedic is never off the clock,” Mr Solomon said.

“Thankfully, both men fully recovered. But if there was ever a good place to have a medical emergency, it’s probably at a LifeFlight event where there are medical crews in the audience,” he joked.

Brad’s next big feat is to ride in the LifeFlight Razor Challenge in October.

He will be spending 20 hours on the bike, cycling repeats of the one climb until he accumulates ascents of 8848m – the altitude of Mt Everest.
