ALBUM’S RAW SPIRIT GOES DEEP INTO SOUL

-

SINGER Songwriter Candice Skjonnemand’s (pictured) debut album has been 10 years in the making.

The Beechmont recording artist, who goes by the stage name Candice Dianna, is currently putting the finishing touches to her soul pop album titled Cheap Wine and a Touch of Soul, which covers heavy subjects of domestic violence, homosexuality and mental illness.

“I’ve put a lot of raw emotion into this and it is about 10 years of work,” she said. “I need people (that have experienced violence) to know they are loved, that they’re not alone.

“I like to express the soul freely from the depths of human emotion and hopefully in doing so connect with people around the world and make a difference.”

The mum of three also starred on talent show The Voice in 2014.

Ms Skjonnemand will perform at The rooftop Aviary Bar at Southport Sharks on July 15 at 2pm to 6pm and at Spaghetti & Jazz at Robina on August 8 at 6pm to 9pm.

Her album Cheap Wine and a Touch of Soul will be released early next year.
