Top Telstra boss quits
TELSTRA is on the hunt for a new networks head with incumbent Mike Wright set to depart in September.
Mr Wright, Telstra’s group managing director of networks, is one of the most senior executives at the group, which is going through a restructure.
Having played a key role in developing Telstra’s 4G network, Mr Wright is leaving the telco just as the 5G mobile race in Australia gets ready to start in earnest.
Telstra chief operations officer Robyn Denholm said Mr Wright, who has worked for the group for almost 40 years, was “one of the most widely respected network engineering leaders in the world”.
“Under Mike’s guidance, Telstra has been a leader in deploying new network technologies,” she said.
