HAD to pick my wife up from the GCUH after a day surgery. Nurse told me over the phone to park outside hospital as my wife can’t walk far. Parked my car and went to pick her up, she was in pain and dizzy (no wheelchair provided), quick walk to the lifts and to the car – all up 10 minutes, long enough for security to stick a ticket on my windscreen. At the time my car was the only one parked outside the hospital. The idea is for all to waste time and money and park at the most expensive car park in Queensland and walk a sick person long distance back to your car. This is how Labor runs hospitals here, money grab first, then the patient care, no common sense required here. Queensland – the greedy and backward State!

All this carry on about plastic bags, if you shop at Aldi you don’t get them supplied and nobody complains. If you buy the lined bags available at all supermarkets for a small price, they make the shopping a lot lighter to carry because of the handles. There is now a big range of large garbage bags to buy. Just get on with it.

So silly. You can always go to Aldi.

If the big grocery companies stopped buying the inferior stuff from overseas we wouldn’t be having outbreaks of listeria etc. It all comes back to the greedy profit line at the expense of Aussie farmers. Show me a farm produce market and I’m there every time. Burleigh State School on Sundays is a good one. Aussie stuff you may pay a little more for but the farmer gets to live also to grow more food. I hope everyone gets behind our struggling farmers. No farmer, no food!

They got the boys out of the cave, but l can’t get my eightyear-old Thai-born son to see his mum and sister in Thailand because l stupidly informed child support of my travel plans and they put a block on my passport even though l am in a payment. The scene at the airport was horrendous. The way some govt depts treat people is disgusting. And l am furious. It’s taken me a year of planning and saving. The whole CSA system needs an overhaul or scrapping. Terminator.

Why is it so difficult to take your own bags to supermarkets? I find it hard to believe people are complaining. I am in my 70s and always have bags in my car ready to use. Some just expect the world to wait on them. For goodness sake take some responsibility and help yourself. Jillian
