Brimming with confidence – if he’s fit

- EMMA GREENWOOD emma.greenwood@news.com.au QLD UNDER-20s NSW UNDER-20s 30 12

TITANS pivot AJ Brimson is under an injury cloud to face the Roosters on Sunday after last night helping Queensland snap their under-20 State of Origin hoodoo.

For the first time since the clash began in 2012, Queensland emerged victorious, 30-12.

In a match which featured a scuffle, Brimson looked to have scored a try late when he pounced on his own grubber.

But it was ruled to have been knocked on by another Maroon. Brimson, who made his NRL debut this season, may be in doubt for the Titans’ clash on Sunday after limping through the final stages of the match.

While he would love the opportunity to line up opposite Cooper Cronk and Luke Keary, Brimson will have to convince Gold Coast medical staff he is 100 per cent.

Coach Garth Brennan said he would leave the decision whether to play a third game in seven days up to Brimson.

If he is not fit, Kane Elgey will come into the line-up.

Another young Titan, Jai Whitbread, was solid in a losing Blues side.
