State title hopes amid fight focus

- with Joel McInnes

THINGS have somewhat settled down for the Australian Boomers this week … well besides the fake twitter accounts and general nonsense on social media.

In true Zapruder film analysis there has been amazing images that keep dropping jaws and revealing new stories, including the great story of Filipino player who held off the angry crowd from Chris Goulding.

FIBA will take it’s time to look at the many camera angles and pour over the evidence to see who cops what for their actions.

I expect this will take some time and will be really interested to see the end result. From the outside looking in, I would say that Basketball Australia have handled the media blitz well.

I hope that Luc Longley gets more camera time and speaks his mind again.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

State championships for junior Gold Coast basketballers are still happening with the under-14 boys in full swing.

North Gold Coast boys team should be a good chance for the title, having swept through the regular season. This is the end of the representative season 2017-18.

Both Gold Coast associations look to have increased their performance across the board. Great job to all.
