GOLD COAST WRAP WITH LADBROKES’ TOM HACKETT

-

WINNERS

Spurcraft (Race 2)

The scratching of Postmaster General meant that Spurcraft started at $1.14, odds generally reserved for the likes of Black Caviar or Winx. He went straight to the lead, kicked away at the top of the straight and never looked like being beaten. He is far too good for this grade.

Bacchur (Race 5)

This looked like a match race between Pumps and Enterprise Prince and that was the case when they kicked well clear at the top of the straight but Bacchur came from absolutely nowhere for a stunning victory.

Secret Agent Man (Race 6) Micheal Hellyer was able to take Eavesdropper colt straight to the front and he was always in control of this contest. A welldeserved maiden race win. LOSERS

Elegant Zous (Race 1) Backed into dominant favouritism but struggled to muster speed early and never really looked comfortable. She finished at the tail of the field and it could be a long time before she starts at such a short quote again.

Keep Your Roses (Race 9) She had genuine excuses but this was still a disappointing effort. She was able to hit the front at the top of the straight but the tough run took its toll late and that ensured it was a tough finish to the afternoon for punters.

NEXT TIME

Windcatcher (Race 7)

Just about everything went wrong and he was still only narrowly denied. He missed the start and took an age to straighten up in the straight but stormed home. If he fixes his racing manners, a return to winning form is just around the corner.

Alma Bubbles (Race 8)

A brilliant ride from Ryan Plumb was probably the difference between Solarcraft and Alma Bubbles in this contest. Alma Bubbles was gallant late and there has been plenty to like.
