CartonCloud adds to its silver lining
THE sky is the limit for Gold Coast technology company CartonCloud after it was named the 2018 Telstra Queensland Small & Succeeding Waves Award winner at a ceremony last night.
This was the first time that the Burleigh Heads-based business, which develops cloud-based transport and logistics software, entered the Telstra awards.
News Corp, publisher of the Gold Coast Bulletin, is the media partner for the awards.
CartonCloud will now go through to the national finals to be held in Melbourne on September 20.
The award, which recognises CartonCloud as the best in its category, caps off a massive year for the Vincent Fletcher-led company.
International mail service DHL signed a contract with CartonCloud recently, following its use of the firm’s software for its operations in Vietnam and Singapore.
The company’s software is now used by more than 90 carriers and warehouses across Australia and New Zealand, processing about hundreds of thousands of deliveries each month.
Essentially CartonCloud mobilises logistics operations by bringing the administration on to a tablet, with the information accessible from anywhere.
It means invoicing is simplified, and proofs of deliveries digitised and searchable.
The other Gold Coast nominees – comprising Southport-based Orbitz Elevators, Ashmore’s AV Technology, and Bundall-based Synergy Resource Management – failed to win in their categories.
Sunshine Coast-based HeliMods was named the 2018 Telstra Queensland Business of the Year.
Founded in 2002 by Will Shrapnel, HeliMods is an international leader in helicopter modifications and helicopter engineering in the defence and emergency response sectors.
“As a progressive technology organisation, we’re dedicated to advancing the capability of rotary-wing operations worldwide,” Mr Shrapnel said.
Telstra executive Carmel Mulhern said the winners demonstrated excellence in innovation and technology.
“The winners of the 2018 Telstra Queensland Business Awards are shining examples of businesses doing great things in new and effective ways for their customers,” she said. “They are genuine innovators, always on the lookout for ways to leverage technology to connect with customers, unlock new markets and take their business to the next level.
“HeliMods is leading the world aviation market with innovative fitouts for helicopter airframes, with clear evidence of alignment in strategy, operating model and investment in engineering talent.” All 2018 Queensland winners will join other state and territory winners at the national 2018 Telstra Australian Business Awards in Melbourne on September 20.
