Jameka run in balance
A DECISION is pending on whether star mare Jameka will return to racing in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes in Melbourne on Saturday.
Jameka has not raced since winning the Group 1 The BMW (2400m) in Sydney in March last year, after which she suffered life-threatening travel sickness.
The six-year-old has been nominated for Saturday’s 1400m weight-for-age race at Caulfield.
Co-trainer Ciaron Maher said a decision would be made today. The mare had a jumpout at Caulfield last month and a barrier trial at Cranbourne last Monday week with Maher admitting he expected to see more from her.
