A sustained run of SSE swell keep wave-heights ranging from 2 to 5ft across northern NSW coasts for the remainder of the working week, while wrapping at lower 1 to 3ft levels north of the border. A new round of NE windswell sets in this weekend, probably only showing peak size at a junky 2 to 3ft plus on Sunday, before rapidly dissipatin­g on Monday.

TODAY

Leftover SSE swell ranging from 2 to 3ft northern NSW southern exposures, bumping up as reinforcin­g SSE groundswel­l fills in later. Sets ranging from 1 to 2ft exposed Qld breaks, grading smaller along the points and bays. WIND: Early light and variable turning E/NE 10 to 15 knots during the day.

TOMORROW

Easing SSE groundswel­l crossed by slight NE windswell. Windaffect­ed 2 to 4ft sets northern NSW south facing beaches, fading during the afternoon. Smaller, junky 1 to 3ft southern Qld exposed coasts, deteriorat­ing during the day. WIND: Early light N inshore turning NNE to NE 10 to 15 knots, freshening to 15 to 25 knots during the afternoon.

SUNDAY

Potential for NE windswell up to a windblown 2 to 3ft exposed beaches, bumping up during the day. Grading smaller inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: Potentiall­y light N to NW, tending light and variable later.

MONDAY

NE windswell easing. Around 2 to 3ft exposed open coasts early, grading smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure and fading during the day. WIND: Early light west to southweste­rly land-breezes tending light and variable, then to light seabreezes in the afternoon.
