QT HOTEL 7 Staghorn Ave, Surfers Paradise

QT has every meal covered on Father’s Day with events at Bazaar and the Stingray Lounge. While Bazaar’s breakfast buffet, featuring made-to-order omelets, is already sold out, there’s still time to spoil your main man. Book a Bazaar dinner so he can gorge on slow-roasted meats, dumplings, salads and a super-sized dessert station, or try something a little different. From 10am to 5pm, Stingray will be hosting Man Teas, a sophisticated, bloke-approved spread of loaded fries, brisket sliders, Moreton Bay bug rolls, sashimi tacos and more. The meal finishes with The Cigar — a Couverture chocolate cigar filled with a Glenmorangie single malt whiskey semifreddo, candied bacon and lemon ash. Every Dad will receive a special gift and a beverage upgrade. Book a Man Tea for $39 per person.

GLENELG PUBLIC HOUSE 2460 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach

It’s business as usual for Glenelg Public House on Father’s Day, but if you’re looking to treat Dad to seriously good steak you’ll have to book ahead. “You can imagine a steakhouse on Father’s Day,” Katrina Hahling says. “We’ve already got quite a few lunch bookings.” Glenelg Public House offers all-day dining for those looking to squeeze in a late lunch or early dinner after some family time. “We’re open from midday, serving food and drinks all day and night.” Katrina says the roast bone marrow entree and oysters are popular starters, while large carveyourself steaks are crowd-pleasers among families. “We’ve got a big T-bone to share, and the Jack’s Creek sirloin is pretty popular with families,” she says.

VERANDAH RESTAURANT InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, Manor Circle

Women have been enjoying high teas for centuries, so it’s about time we let men in on the secret. Verandah Restaurant and Bar has created a Gentlemen’s High Tea especially for Father’s Day. Chef Matt Hart has dreamed up decadent tiers with a manly meal twist. Tier one is dedicated to dessert with pannacotta and caramel truffle. Tier two features lamb sliders on brioche rolls with sweet potato fries and jalapeño aioli, while the third tier contains the likes of spiced chicken wings and croquettes. Guests can choose a tap craft beer or upgrade to a signature whiskey. Spots are $39 per person and you can choose a morning or afternoon sitting. Book by calling 5530 1234.

TERRACES Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, 71 Sea World Drive, Main Beach

What’s better than taking Dad out for a meal? Taking him somewhere he can eat five meals for the price of one. The Terraces is hosting its regular buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Sunday. “Fathers love being able to fill up on as many dishes as possible,” marketing executive Anna Palmer says. “Terraces will be hosting its renowned seafood buffet, filled with local seafood — oysters, prawns, crab, you name it.” Pricing starts at $49 per person for breakfast, $109 per person for lunch and $83 per person for dinner. For made-to-order meals, the attached Sheraton Grand Mirage resort’s Oyster Bar is serving grilled barramundi and Cape Grim rib eye fillet. Bookings are essential at both Terraces and Oyster Bar. Call 5577 0024.

BLACK HOPS BREWING 15 Gardenia Grove, Burleigh Heads

Treat Dad to a behind-the-scenes tour at Black Hops Brewing. The Burleigh Heads bar and brewery promises to reveal the magic of making a top-quality craft beer. Manager Leah Spong says tour spots are limited so be sure to book early. “It will be a max of 20 people, so really intimate,” Leah says. “We’ll have the dads walking through the whole brewery. It’ll start at noon in the tap room, then they’ll go through the rest of the brewery where we show them how we make our beer, how it all works,” Leah says. Guests will get to enjoy some one-on-one time with the elusive renowned head brewer Govs before tucking into a tasting paddle and being gifted a take-home four-pack. Call 0423 585 032 to book.
