SE wind swell to hold within the 3 to 4ft range across exposed northern NSW breaks, grading smaller across the southeast Queensland coast today. Mid period energy in refracted south, SSE swell holds within a similar size range mid week prior to a distant pulse in long period south groundswel­l.

SSE windswell up to 3 to 4ft+ northern NSW south facing beaches, grading to about 2 to 3ft southern Qld exposed coasts and smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: ESE, SE at 15 to 20 knots, easing later.

TOMORROW

Mid-period S swell eases to 2 to 4ft across northern NSW south facing breaks, grading to 1 to 2ft+ exposed Qld beaches and smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Calm, east winds tending NE later.

THURSDAY

New South groundswel­l shows inconsiste­nt rising sets. Building from 2 to 3ft across northern NSW south facing coasts with 4ft+ sets into the arvo. Grading

1 to 2ft exposed Qld breaks, rising 3ft sets later. WIND: Early light north, NNW inshore, NNE at 15 to 20 knots later.

FRIDAY

Fading south groundswel­l combined with a rising north wind swell. Sets ranging from 3 to 4ft at exposed northern NSW beaches, grading 1 to 3ft across exposed southern Qld beaches and tiny inside the points and bays before a rising north swell creates windblown peaks into the day.

WIND: Early NNW at 10 to 15 knots, freshening 20 to 25 knots NNE knots later.

SATURDAY

Combo left over south swell, short period NNE wind swell. Ranging from 2 to 3ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches. Grading windblown 1 to 2ft+ southern Qld exposed coasts. Smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure.

WIND: Early NNW at 15 to 20 knots, freshening 25 knots north, NNE.
