Smaller SSE swell reinforced by long-period S groundswel­l during the afternoon. Around 2 to 3ft across northern NSW south facing coasts, building to a stronger 3 to 4ft into the afternoon. Wrapping at 1 to 2ft exposed Qld breaks and bumping up to a slow 2 to 3ft later, otherwise smaller elsewhere. WIND: Early light NW to NNW inshore, tending NNE at 15 to 20 knots later.

TOMORROW

Fading south groundswel­l combined with a rising north wind swell. Sets ranging from 3 to 4ft at exposed northern NSW beaches, grading 1 to 3ft across exposed southern Qld beaches and tiny inside the points and bays before a rising north swell creates windblown peaks into the day. WIND: Early NNW at 10 to 15 knots, freshening 20 to 25 knots NNE knots later.

FRIDAY

Combo left over SSE swell and short period NNE windswell. Ranging from 2 to 3ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches. Grading windblown 1 to 3ft southern Qld exposed coasts and smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early NNW at 15 to 20 knots, freshening 25 knots north, NNE.

SATURDAY

New S windswell picks up under fresh southerly winds. Peaking at a junky 3 to 4ft+ sets across exposed northern NSW beaches, grading clean 1 to 2ft+ along exposed southern Qld coasts. WIND: Possible SSW inshore early otherwise S 15 to 25 knots, tending SSE and easing to 15 to 20 knots during the day.

SUNDAY

Easing S windswell up to 2 to 4ft northern NSW south facing beaches, grading to about 2ft+ southern Qld exposed coasts and smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: SW to SSW inshore, turning SE at 15 to 20 knots, easing later.
