ARE you ready for a good stein?

Locals looking for the best and the wurst of Oktoberfest at home need look no further as the German festival kicks off on the Gold Coast.

Revellers at The Bavarian Broadbeach are expected to consume a whopping 50 kegs of beer over the course of the celebration of all things beer.

That is a rate of 2475 litres a week to accompany the hundreds of traditional pork knuckles set to be devoured.

Rockpool Dining Group CEO Thomas Pash said Oktoberfest was the most exciting time of the year for The Bavarian.

“It’s already got off to a great start at The Bavarian Broadbeach and we have five more weeks of celebrations,” he said.

“The Gold Coast is one of our strongest Oktoberfest celebrations across the country.

“No one really gets behind it the way Gold Coast locals do – they love it. Our Gold Coast customers know how to have a good time. It’s in the blood.”

In addition, The Bavarian is opening at Westfield Coomera on Thursday, October 11 – smack bang in the middle of Oktoberfest, giving locals another location to join the festivities.

If you’re keen to stretch your Lederhosen after all that beer or you’re just hungry, take part in one of four foodie challenges by eating a pork knuckle, a schnitzel, a pretzel or a doughnut pretzel to go into the draw to win a trip to Munich.

Five official Oktoberfest beers from Bavaria will be on tap on rotation over the five weeks.
