Captivated (Race 5)

It was a tough start for punters and Captivated delivered their first positive result. It wasn’t the easiest watch but he kept on finding to record a maiden win.

Soft Top (Race 6)

Race 6 was a two-way betting duel between Soft Top and Jayaqua and that was replicated on the track. They went together at the top of the straight, but Soft Top proved too classy.

•The Kingdom (Race 7)

Les Kelly has a fairly promising horse with The Kingdom. He has now recorded two wins from his past three starts and this should prove to be a fairly strong form race. He could be even better once he gets out to a mile. LOSERS

Star Justice (Race 4)

The well-backed Star Justice was slow out of the gates and he never really looked like a winning chance. The Star Witness gelding was no match whatsoever for Too Easy Bro or Doctor Zed.

Che Bella Vita (Race 8)

The performance of Che Bella Vita basically summed up the day for favourite backers. She was the first horse beaten in the straight and was found with cardiac arrhythmia after the race.

NEXT TIME

Bill The Conqueror (Race 7) Bill The Conqueror did plenty wrong and he was still only beaten by The Kingdom by the narrowest of margins. Will be tough to beat at his next start.

Twilighter (Race 8) Twilighter was under pressure for almost the entire race. However, she kept finding the line and the way that she ran through the post was very impressive.
