STORK OF THE TOWN

- JONATHON MORAN

GOLD Coast A-lister Margot Robbie has stepped back in time 50 years to relive the final days of actor Sharon Tate’s life in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The former Somerset College student was spotted wearing a faux baby bump in a bright yellow mini-dress on the Californian set this week. Tate was murdered by the Manson family in 1969 when she was nearly nine months pregnant.

GOLD Coast starlet Margot Robbie bore an eerie resemblance to late Hollywood actor Sharon Tate as she donned a pregnancy suit shooting her new film.

Snapped on set of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Robbie filmed scenes as Tate who was nearly nine months pregnant when she was murdered by members of the Charles Manson family in LA in 1969.

Fellow Australian, Damon Herriman, will be seen as serial killer Manson in the film that will also star Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch and Al Pacino.

Herriman recently said he spent a lot of time preparing for the role of Manson.

“Mentally it was certainly incredibly upsetting researching what happened,” he said. “In the scenes I do, it is more about the characterisation of the guy rather than the horrific stuff ... It didn’t upset me having to play him, it was more upsetting having to research it. Playing a real person is a challenging thing, especially someone as well known as him, and you want people watching to forget they are watching an actor.

“It was one of the hardest things I have done.”
