FITZROY GREENWOOL (SUNS) No.1 The Far North Queensland product left Sharks defenders stranded in Round 9, pouncing on a defensive lapse and a sharp step off his left foot put him inside the 50m.

MICHAEL MANTEIT (SHARKS)

The premiership player benefited from the hard work done by his teammates, running into a wide open goal.

BRAYDEN CROSSLEY (SUNS)

The big ruckman did it all himself against GWS. Crossley used his body to win a stoppage contest, gathered the loose ball and snapped a goal from 30m out.

JOSH HALL (SHARKS)

The agile ruckman left Suns defender Jack Leslie embarrassed after gathering the ball 50m out from goal before changing direction on the spot to free up his shot.

EDDIE SANSBURY (SUNS)

The former North Melbourne AFL player, 34, played a couple of NEAFL games when the side was stuck for numbers. He got the ball in the pocket with a defender closing and dribble-kicked it on a sharp angle.

ANDREW BOSTON (SHARKS) Southport’s co-captain took a mark at halfway and gave it off before continuing his run towards goal. Received the ball down the line and kicked true and straight.

EMMANUEL BARU (SUNS) No.1

The forward was the quickest to pounce on a loose ball in front of goal and eluded four Sydney defenders before snapping a goal that gave his side a one-point lead.

TOM WILKINSON (SHARKS) Southport’s ability to lock the ball inside the forward 50m was critical to success. An interception against Canberra sent the ball back Wilkinson’s way and a quick snap was one of his 36 goals for the season.

FITZROY GREENWOOL (SUNS) No.2

A second contender by the small forward, who tapped a ball over his head to a teammate. It was passed on four more times before he received it again just outside the 50m in the pocket.

BRANDON CHADWICK (SHARKS)

One of the highlights of the season. With Southport down by five points with seconds left against Brisbane, he slotted a set shot that won the game for Southport.

EMMANUEL BARU (SUNS) No.2

A team goal that started from the Suns goal square. Baru took a mark on the 50m line, faked a handball to send the defender the wrong way and calmly slotted a goal.

BRODIE MURDOCH (SHARKS)

Against Sydney University. Murdoch gathered the ball and took two steps and snapped the ball on his left foot from 40m.

RYAN DAVIS (SHARKS)

Davis won his own ball, brushed two Sydney defenders before steadying to kick a goal from 50m out in the grand final against Sydney.
