Chauffeur is hard work

-

TRAINER Brad Widdup can’t be sure he has solved the puzzle that is four-year-old entire Chauffeur. But if he hasn’t, it won’t be for lack of trying.

Provided the Rosehill track stays dry, Chauffeur will resume in an 1100m Benchmark 78 Handicap tomorrow chasing his second career win almost two years after his first.

Widdup has mixed up the horse’s training routine hoping it will prompt Chauffeur, a $1.6 million yearling who was runner-up to Houtzen in the 2017 Magic Millions 2YO Classic, to focus on racing.

“He has been a challenge” Widdup said of the project.
