REMEMBER WHEN

GOLD COAST BULLETIN Tuesday November 21, 2006

WHEN Jane Hilton walked into a room, you noticed her for all the right reasons.

With immaculate hair and make-up, impacting fashion sense and a naturally friendly demeanour - you couldn’t help but be attracted to her.

That’s why when Jane arrived at Palazzo Versace for Tuesday magazine’s 50 Best Dressed Women of the Gold Coast, judges knew they had made the right selection for our No. 1.

She wore a stunning cocktail choice of a black strapless BCBG satin dress, black Manolo Blahnik statement heels, jewelled Ren Caovilla bag and sparkling jewellery - an outfit just as chic as the Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress she wore for the Bulletin’s Best Dressed photographic shoot two earlier ago for readers to vote on.

The 40-year-old interior designer easily gave her LA nieces, Paris and Nicky, a run for their money when it comes to dressing to impress.

Still, when her name was announced in the La Medusa Ballroom at Palazzo Versace, Jane was genuinely surprised she’d won the $3000 prize and prime position.

Quieter than many would expect for a member of the famous Hilton clan, Jane modestly made her thankyous and then befriended every fashion fan in the room with a lighthearted afterthought …

“It’s finally paid off after years of hiding the credit card bills … and the shoe boxes.”

At her Palm Beach home the next day, Jane was still smiling at her unexpected win.

But it was no surprise really, looking at what was hanging and stacked in her wardrobe.
