P-plater over on two counts
A P-PLATER has been charged with drink-driving and speeding more than 35km/h faster than her licence allowed.
The 17-year-old of Lennox Head was allegedly caught by police on Sunday at 2.15am, driving 128km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Pacific Highway at Tyagarah, close to Byron Bay.
As part of Provisional P1 licence conditions, drivers must not exceed 90km/h and have a zero blood-alcohol level.
The driver was given a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive reading.
After being taken to Byron Bay Police Station, she was again breathalysed where she allegedly returned a reading of 0.040.
