$6m bribe by cartel

-

MEXICO’S former federal security chief and other top law enforcement officials took millions of dollars in bribes from the Sinaloa drug cartel in the mid-2000s, a witness has told the US trial of cartel chief Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Jesus Zambada, brother of another Sinaloa boss, made the allegations in a New York court yesterday, claiming mass bribing by the deadly gang.

He claimed he had personally handed $US6 million in cash to the former security chief Genaro Garcia Luna on behalf of the cartel.
