Kangaroos eye sons
NORTH Melbourne could pick up two sons of former Kangaroos players in the same draft, with the AFL club nominating Joel Crocker and Gold Coaster Bailey Scott under the father-son rule.
Joel’s dad Darren played 165 games for the Roos and is the coaching director at the club, while Bailey’s father Robert played 113 matches for North Melbourne.
Other notable nominations announced yesterday include, Oscar Brownless (Geelong, son of Billy), Rhylee West (Western Bulldogs, son of Scott) and Ben Silvagni (Carlton, son of Stephen).
Highly rated Sydney academy talent Nick Blakey, son of two-time Kangaroos premiership player John, will probably go to the Swans. John is now coaching director at Sydney.
