THE ink has dried on the multimillion-dollar sale of a riverfront mansion that could give the Jetsons’ family home a run for its money.

Melbourne buyers snapped up the Monaco St residence in a $3.5 million deal, which settled last week.

The property’s futuristic technology has been likened to that in the popular ’60s cartoon series The Jetsons.

It features “self-cleaning” glass, an integrated sound system, keyless entry, electric blinds and windows and sensor taps.

The house hit the market in April 2017 and was taken to auction by Kollosche Prestige Agents in May, where it was passed in at $3.4 million.

Michael Kollosche, who marketed the property alongside Jordan Williams, said the Melbourne buyers could not go past its north aspect.

“Being in the sun for most of the day, coupled with the architecture, was what stood out to them,” he said.

“Being able to spend six months of the year here and enjoy winter was what really appealed. It’s a magic position – one of the widest parts of the river due north with skyline views of Surfers Paradise.”

Mr Williams said the new owners planned to do minor renovations.

“They’re renovating their taste,” he said.

Among the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home’s standout features are a black marble water feature in the courtyard, electric awning for extra shade over a riverside alfresco area, to 14m pool and temperaturecontrolled wine room.

Sellers Trish and Paul Robinson had an architect design and build the home, where they lived for more than a decade.

They asked for plenty of windows to admire the river views but also lots of wall space for artwork.

Mrs Robinson told the Bulletin this year the architect went above and beyond to make it unique and versatile.
