Consorting claim fails

-

A MAN accused of being a wannabe Bandido bikie has had the charges against him dropped in the last minutes before a hearing.

Christopher James Rees, from Main Beach, yesterday had a single charge of habitually consorting dropped in the Southport Magistrates Courts yesterday.

Police prosecutor Josie Salzman offered no evidence.

Rees’ lawyer Corey Cullen, of Cullen Lawyers, said the laws were “draconian”.

“The majority of the police brief was inadmissable,” he said.

Rees will appear in court next week to face one charge each of going armed to cause fear and wilful damage.
