HELP IS AT HAND

-

PARKING is a blight in most growing cities. Either you are trying to find one, or motorists overstay their welcome and inconvenience residents trying to get and out of their driveways.

The situation at Nobby Beach has become so bad an elderly woman could not leave her home during the weekend and visit a sick friend in hospital because a motorist ignored the yellow lines while parking in her street.

Residents are now threatening to take matters into their own hands by hiring tow trucks to remove the illegally parked vehicles themselves.

Of course, there is another solution, as both police and the council reinforce today. Phone them.

Police said they would have helped residents at the weekend if they had known of the problems. Likewise, the council said it would take appropriate action.

As frustrated as Nobby Beach residents may be, it would be folly for them to take the law into their own hands and remove the vehicles themsevles. Authorities have offered to help. Use them.
