Dubious to use Wyong as lead-up
MAGIC Millions 2YO Classic favourite Dubious is among three stakes-winning juveniles nominated for a key lead-up race at Wyong next week.
Dubious, who heads Ladbrokes’ market at $10, is set to resume from a short let-up in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Wednesday.
The 1000m race at the NSW Central Coast track is a qualifying race for the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast.
The Melbourne-trained Dubious has had just the one start for a win in the Group 3 Breeders Plate (1000m) at Randwick on September 29.
Other Wyong nominations include Maribyrnong Trial Stakes winner Unite And Conquer and Debutant Stakes winner Champagne Boom.
Half the juveniles nominated for the race are unraced.
Trainer Gary Portelli has entered Spaceboy who finished a distant second to early Golden Slipper favourite Tassort at Rosehill on debut while Godolphin’s James Cummings has well-bred filly Exhilarates, by Snitzel out of Samaready, in the nominations.
Capitalist (2015), Unencumbered (2013) and Karuta Queen (2010) have won the Wyong and Gold Coast Millions double in the past decade.
