Coast’s schools lead­ing the way

THIS week is the na­tional schools cham­pi­onships, with mul­ti­ple age groups and di­vi­sions, and Gold Coast schools are well rep­re­sented.

HILL­CREST CHRIS­TIAN COL­LEGE

17 Boys Divi­sion 1: With a record of 3-2 the boys are look­ing solid so far with Toby Har­rold-Evans and Blake Gam­ble hav­ing strong per­for­mances.

The boys had a great game yes­ter­day, win­ning on the buzzer with a length-of-the court pass and fin­ish.

Cham­pi­onship Women: The girls to­mor­row play for bronze. It was a great ef­fort from Jaylen Cooper, lead­ing scor­ers with 22 points a game.

15 Boys Divi­sion 1: Boys were into the semi-fi­nal and will now play West­field Sports High to­day in a bat­tle for third.

PALM BEACH CUR­RUMBIN

17 girls Divi­sion 2: Girls are 4-0 and look­ing very strong on the back of play from Ella Brow and Tayla Sleaford.

THE SOUTH­PORT SCHOOL

17 Boys Divi­sion 2: The TSS boys are per­form­ing well with Pre­ston LeGas­sick top scor­ing. They have three wins and two losses so far from the group.

ALL SAINTS

17 girls Divi­sion 3: A tough week but re­main com­pet­i­tive de­spite 0-4. Brid­gette Kennedy and Tayla Forbes pro­vid­ing strong play for the team.

SOM­ER­SET

17 boys Divi­sion 4: A 2-1 record in the sec­ond pool for the Spar­tans boys with Do­minic Bens­ley lead­ing the charge.
