TITLE TASK AT SIXERS AND SEVENS

- FIONA BOLLEN

THE reality of challenging for a fourth straight WBBL final hit the Sydney Sixers like a ton of bricks.

The back-to-back WBBL champions were humbled in their season-opening, sevenwicket loss to the Stars, the Sixers having no answer to Lizelle Lee’s 102 not out.

Captain Ellyse Perry has asked her side to evolve.

“Last weekend was a really good insight into the fact that we potentially have to be a little more adaptable on the run,” Perry said.

“I thought our bowling was pretty one-dimensional and when someone like Lizelle Lee is batting really well you’ve got to be able to think on your feet and actually evolve out there otherwise you become really predictable.”

The Sixers have back-toback games this weekend at North Sydney Oval, first against their opponent from the past two finals, Perth, then rivals Thunder on Saturday, both of whom had season-opening wins.
