Job seeker fund boost

GOLD COAST job seekers have received an extra $2.29 million in training funding to help get ready for work.

The state funding comes as part of the latest round of Skilling Queensland­ers for Work, which is expected to benefit up to 341 Gold Coasters.

Under the program individual­s will undertake paid training while working on community projects designed to enhance their skills.

More than $34.7 million has been invested in the latest round of the Palaszczuk Government’s Skilling Queensland­ers for Work initiative to fund a further 156 projects.
