To the goose whingeing about Hot Tomato and the crash updates, it’s a radio station fool, and what could you do even if they did give you the sticky beak info you craved, the service roads were the same. Be patient

Re free to air cricket ‘less than complete coverage’. Blame rests entirely with Cricket Australia.

Please get serious on crime!! Hardship is at an all time high and we need to teach people that crime is not the solution. The vulnerable need help, even if it’s tough love. Under age offenders need to be picking up trash on the side of the road or something, humiliating tasks may help them think twice before they steal their next car

For those with sadomasochistic tendencies, ABC News 24 is for you. A really hot day is now “extreme” “very severe” or “catastrophic”. So much more misery for the same heat! Completely sustainable too, they repeat it daily. Ah yes, the pain, more pain! Give us a break, Aunty! Bruce C, Murwillumbah.

I would love to see the Federal Government tax alcohol at the same rate they tax tobacco products. Think of the budget surpluses they could have as a result. I don’t smoke or drink so bring it on …

Re: Homes under pressure (GCB 14/1). The article blames banks and rising interest costs. James Hassell of Mortgage Choice makes total sense in his comments for all Mortgage holders. The real cause in my opinion is overseas and interstate investors inflating the market and causing locals either out of the market or borrowing more. Governments at all levels have to start looking after locals and if that means ceasing all overseas investors snapping up Australian property and land then so be it. Radish

Love the my first read of the day. Have to reread some items to get “gist of it”, re no comas, spelling?! Just luv it! Keep up the good work! Ma

Re: cigarette litter/Darren Smith, I agree and venues need to provide ashtrays or buckets of sand to dispose cigarettes, there will always be smokers and they should have a designated area! Yes, venues should be responsible for sweeping up around their areas. Kim

Smokers are obligated to go out to the street or around a corner to have a puff. Venue owners should put an attractive pot with sand outside to provide somewhere for the smoked cigarette to end up.

This would alleviate most of the problem. The local.

What’s the big deal with politicians getting freebies to big events? It’s been going on for years - it’s just another perk that goes with the job. Barney work 7 days a week, 14 hour days, don’t take holidays, work sometimes for nothing by offering services for free. Guess what? I work for myself to keep you losers in a job. You’re welcome!

Not a bad weekend … cricket.. soccer and neball .go you good things.

Good to see the police in Surfers arresting that scum sucking, gutter trash in Surfers yesterday. Families are horrified at the criminal, vagrant element in Surfers harassing people. Well done police. James

Another good story Ken Wade in Bulletin Jan 12 this time focusing on lawyers who are so obsessed with winning a case just to gain notoriety, they are willing to appeal a magistrate’s decision through the District Courts for free. Oh what a joke, whoever heard of these lawyers working for nothing? Be streetwise, if they inquire about your assets, then head for the door. David, a victim of a ‘no win no fee’ lousy deal.

Boo hoo people complaining about litter have you ever been to a food court or airport people are quite happy to leave there rubbish behind even when a bin is nearbyterry

Egads! Where did humility go? And when the heck did being totally “up yourself” take over? Have a look at yourselves!! So embarrassing!!!

Lisa Alexander is laying down the law … apart from a minor hiccup at the com games … Australia.s Diamonds would only consider England’s roses in the World Cup all other countries would be small speed bumps. go girls.

John Mc, can you explain how dinosaurs were on the earth millions of years before God created it, or were the fossils planted there by the devil to trick us or maybe it was Santa or the tooth fairy. No Name (the Easter bunny)

For God’s sake do these naive politicians really think that the young ones heading through the gates to a music festival, will ask to have their collection of pills tested just in case some are dangerous drugs and then wait to be arrested by nearby police for drug possession. We know that some of this current generation are lost in their own world, but surly not that stupid? KenW.
