Senior support boost

-

GOLD Coast City Council has announced it is boosting its support for seniors with another series of dedicated information sessions.

The meetings, aimed at protecting the more than 100,000 citizens aged 65 and over, will cover avoiding online scams, personal safety and home security.

Mayor Tom Tate said the forum would bring together “all relevant agencies” interested in safety across the city.

“The dedicated sessions will be held at various locations across the city and are free to all seniors,” he said.

The first session will be held on March 14 at the Upper Coomera Centre.

By 2036, seniors are expected to make up around 20 per cent of the Gold Coast’s population.
