Lawsuit to stop wall

CALIFORNIA’S AttorneyGeneral has filed a lawsuit against US President Donald Trump’s emergency declaration to fund a wall on the US-Mexican border.

Xavier Becerra said 16 states, including California, alleged the action violated the Constitution. He said there was no border emergency.

Mr Trump last week declared a national emergency to fulfil his promise of completing the wall.

The move allowed the President to bypass Congress to use money from the Pentagon and other budgets.
