OFF THE RECORD

-

THE chances of a “surprise” birthday party next year for this dame would seem to be fairly remote judging by all reports. Firstly it wasn’t really a surprise as the guest of honour was the one pressing for the party to be held. Secondly instructions were issued through her minions as to the type and minimum cost of the presents she would be expecting. Then after all her friends had chipped in to pay for the food, drink and decorations she started opening the presents in front of everyone. Any that didn’t meet with her approval were given a look of disdain and tossed aside. To add insult to the offensiveness she then found out the suppliers of some of the presents. The reason is that she wants to return the gifts and exchange them for something more befitting her rank and station. Next birthday will be a table for one.

NOTHING like a bit of excessive self-promotion to help boost things along. Desperate to increase her street cred this wannabe has taken to name dropping on an industrial scale. You name the famous star and at some time in her young life she has worked with them and in a lot of cases takes full credit for making them a big global celebrity. It’s an odd claim when she has barely managed to travel past the infamous Gold Coast sign at Beenleigh. Maybe she is channelling George Costanza – It’s not a lie if you truly believe it.

ANOTHER example of girls behaving badly. Although these two are both of an age when they should know better they have once again been escorted out of an establishment for conduct unbecoming. Unfortunately they suffer from that increasingly prevalent “one is too many and 100 is never enough” syndrome which results in a litany of rude, crude and abusive behaviour. It’s a pity they can’t be shown the security tape to see what a mess they make of themselves and how they ruin the evening for those around them.

THE scene is a meet and greet for a super important visiting executive from down south. Anxious to make a good impression this rising local executive took it upon himself to take charge of the door to the private area where the event was happening. All well and fine until he forcefully stopped one man and demanded some ID. Big mistake, huge. Yep, it was the man of the hour who didn’t take kindly to being stopped from entering a party in his honour. Not exactly a good career move.
