FISHING

OFFSHORE: It’s too rough with big swells from the cyclone off Vanuatu. Conditions are expected to spike throughout the week, so offshore fishing is not recommended.

TWEED: Mangrove jack and trevally around the rock walls. Flathead and whiting on the exposed banks. Occasional dart and tailor at southern beaches.

BROADWATER: Lots of mangrove jack around Loders Creek in Southport. Whiting at the Marine Stadium, at Paradise Point and behind the council chambers. FRESHWATER: Hinze Dam fishing well for bass and saratoga in the back around the timbered areas.
