Krumm’s roll comes to end

- CHRIS MCMAHON

BELOVED, wheelchairbound sausage dog Krumm was the face of Storybook Farm.

The happy little pooch which defied all odds was given to the group as a pup after being diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (a spinal disease) and became an ambassador for disabled pets.

Krumm was a movie star, appearing in comedy film Swinging Safari, filmed on the Gold Coast alongside Kylie Minogue. Most importantly, Krumm was an inspiration to those who were at their worst. He would visit people who had gone through traumatic injuries to show that if he could live a fulfilling life, so could they.

Krumm was the little dog that could, until he tragically passed away in June last year, aged nine.

Storybook founder LisaJayne Cameron said he died either from an underlying cancer or a spider bite.

People were heartbroken. Hundreds turned out to his memorial at Cleveland for the little dog with a big heart.

At the time of his death Ms Cameron said he was an angel.

“He was magic. We called him the angel with attitude,” Ms Cameron said.

“We could all be a bit more like Krumm.

“He was special because of his refusal to act like a wellmannered dog. He was unashamedly him, he had an opinion on everything.’’.”

There is no suggestion Krumm died under suspicious circumstances.
