ANY time spent with architect extraordinaire Desmond Brooks, the man of many ideas, is always illuminating. Chatting to him and the subject of Noosa came up. “We had a great plan for Hastings Street. This was before it got built out but my plan was to have the street and shops undercover and then have all the accommodation above with an ocean view. At that stage there were only 30 or so landowners but unfortunately we needed them all to be on board so it didn’t happen. It would have been spectacular,” he enthused.
