KEEP IT THUNDER YOUR HAT

-

LET’S be honest, it can be a little difficult to keep kids entertained all day long.

Not so at Thunderbird Park. I mean, I do not have kids but if I did, this is where I’d take them.

With the park situated along Tamborine Mountain, families can drive up from the city and immerse themselves in the glorious Hinterland.

At the site, they can choose between the treetop challenge, the canyon flyer, horse riding, laser skirmish, bird feeding, minigolf or – of course – thunderegg fossicking.

The treetop challenge has more than 100 components to choose from, with courses ranging from easy to difficult, while the canyon flyer is Aus- tralia’s highest and fastest zip line.

If you prefer to chill out a little, horse riding from half an hour to 1.5 hours in the rainforest might be more your thing. You can even set up camp and sleep overnight at the park’s caravan and camping area.

Or you can stay in one of their cute lodges that can house up to six people, or the more cosy rooms complete with a two-person spa.

However, the biggest perk of staying overnight would be access to the natural rock pools for a swim.

Of course if you stay overnight, you know you’re going to want to visit the mountain for the day and enjoy Mount Tamborine’s lookouts, Gallery Walk and natural beauty.
