Cops probe surf rage

-

A FEMALE surfer has been forced to defend herself after another surfer allegedly assaulted her in the surf.

The woman was paddling on to a wave at Broken Head on Thursday when another female surfer allegedly became enraged, believing the victim had dropped in on her.

She allegedly grabbed the victim’s leg rope, causing the surfer to fall off the board, and threw her surfboard at her.

The woman dodged it and used her own surfboard as a shield as the woman screamed at her.

She paddled away after the victim said she would call police.

Police are investigating the incident after being alerted to a similar episode involving the same woman.
