NICKELODEON and Paramount Pictures have dropped the first official trailer for the highly-anticipated live action adaptation of Dora the Explorer.

Based on the popular animated series, the Queenslandfilmed Dora and the Lost City of Gold was shared during the broadcast of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Angeles on Saturday.

The two-and-a-half minute preview follows a teenage Dora, played by Isabela Moner, as she embarks on a new adventure of unfamiliar territory: high school, before being thrust into a mission to find the lost Inca civilisation and save her archaeologist parents, played by Michael Pena and Eva Longoria. in Los

Rising star Madeleine Madden landed the breakthrough role as Dora's school friend Sammy. The 21-year-old Picnic At Handing Rock and Tidelands actor said last year the role had been a perfect introduction to the “shock” of the Hollywood film industry.

“I think it’s good for Aussie actors like myself to work on a Hollywood movie in Australia because it’s nice to get a taste of what that’s like, but still be in Australia,” she said.

Jeffrey Wahlberg also stars in the film as Dora’s cousin, Diego, while Benicio Del Toro is the mastermind voice behind Dora’s arch-nemesis, Swiper.

Directed by James Bobin, the film was shot on the Gold Coast last year and hits Australian cinemas in September.
