TODAY: Long-range easterly tradewind swell slowly fades. Initially up to 2ft and occasional­ly bigger at the most exposed open breaks, easing later. Grading to tiny levels along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early light NW to NNW, tending north to NNE around 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon.

TOMORROW: Background easterly tradewind swell up 1 to 2ft exposed open breaks, otherwise grading smaller along the points and inside the bays. WIND: NW to NNW 5 to 15 knots inshore early, tending light and variable, then northerly, NNE around 10 to 20 knots in the arvo.

WEDNESDAY: Potential for steep rising SSE/SE windswell. Speculativ­ely up to 2 to 3ft+ exposed coasts, rising to 3 to 4ft in the afternoon. Otherwise smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light SW to SSW, tending SE to ESE around 15 to 25 knots in the afternoon.

THURSDAY: ESE tradewind swell mixing with underlying S groundswel­l. Speculativ­ely 3 to 5ft exposed northern NSW coasts, grading to 2 to 4ft across southern Qld coasts and smaller inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light WSW to SSW, tending variable, possibly NNE around 10 knots in the afternoon.
